Course Description
AP Statistics is an exciting class that will impact your thinking and the way you view the world. Statistics is everywhere in our culture: election polls, medical studies, and bags of M&M’s. Assignments will be tied to real world data and class time will often include interactive experiments and activities. The goal of the class is to teach you to think carefully about collecting and analyzing data.
Course Procedures, Expectations, & Policies
3. In case of an absence, the student is responsible to obtain missed notes and assignments. It is the student’s responsibility to turn in all makeup work to the teacher and to keep up with the course. (For every 1 day absent = 1 day to make up work).

The Advanced Placement Exam
The 2016 AP Exam for Statistics is scheduled during the second semester. More details will be added at a later date as to when this will take place.
All students enrolled in the AP Statistics course will take this exam.
Tardy Policy
2 Unexcused tardys will result in an automatic detention.
Tutoring
I will be available MWF mornings before school in room 106 from 6:30am until school starts.

Course Procedures, Expectations, & Policies
- All students are required to keep an up-to-date notebook or 3 ring binder. Your notebook must be kept neat and orderly. You will keep up with a Table of Contents. Your binder must stay in this order. You must bring your textbook and notebook to class every day.

Grading Policy:
- Classwork/ Homework- Students are required to take notes on a daily basis. Notes usually include definitions, formulas, procedures, and example problems. Keeping things neat and organized may prove to be quite beneficial. Homework will be assigned on a daily basis and will be due at the beginning of class on the following scheduled school day. Students are responsible for getting missed notes, worksheets, etc. due to absences.
- Quizzes – All quizzes are announced ahead of time. If you have an excused absence on the day of the quiz, it is your responsibility to meet with your teacher on the day you return to set up a makeup time. If absent the day before the assigned quiz, the student is still responsible to take the quiz on that day.
- Unit Tests – All unit tests will be announced in advance, therefore; in case of an absence, students will take the test on the day they return. All tests and quizzes are designed to be completed during the class time only.

Classroom Rules
- Be in your seat when the bell rings. (Pencils sharpened before bell rings).
- Come prepared and bring all supplies to class.
- Do not interrupt lesson for any reason. (This includes getting out of seats, asking for passes, asking questions that do not pertain to lesson).
- Do not get out of your seat unless permitted to do so. Only one person out of their seat at a time.
- Do not speak while teacher or another student is talking.
- No food, drinks, or gum in class.
- Ipods (MP3 players), cell phones or other electronic devices may not be seen or heard during class.

- Binder (2 inch) *Kept up to date with Table of Contents
- Graphing Calculator (TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-84) YOU MUST HAVE THIS CALCULATOR!!!
- A box of Kleenex and a ream of paper are appreciated (not mandatory).
